Role of the Designer Research

This was an informative program about graduates leaving Goldsmiths. Although the focus was on fine artists there was of course a lot which could also apply to me when I go out into the big scary world. The program certainly reinforced a lot of what I’d already heard during creative futures week, especially with regards to the importance of networking. I found it a little shocking that 5 months after graduation, only 2 out of 40 of the graduates from such a prestigious institution were with galleries- perhaps this proves that it is simply not enough to have the name attached to yourself to be successful.
