Postcards from the future - title

This comic created for Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) seems to be thinking along similar lines to our Clockwork Express magazine by encouraging girls to become interested and involved in science, engineering and technology though the medium of comics. I particularly liked the reference to the way in which girls tend to be recommended childcare as a sort of default career path by well-meaning advisors.

However I do wonder if the tone is a little “clichéd comic book”  for teen readers, with too many “Suddendly”s and captions that explain what the reader can already see happening in the panel. I really don’t want to dwell on the negative though- I think this is a great project!

To the comic

Faye Reason, one of the people responsible for the concept and story talks about it on her blog: http://fayereason.blogspot.com/2010/08/postcards-from-future-graphic-novel.html
